We had tested working HTC Vive with openFrameworks (Windows 10) using ofxOpenVR addon by smallfly. Installing addon and running its examples shown that it requires some tricks (using openFrameworks version with GLM support, downloading OpenVR library, excluding CPP files from the OpenVR in the project, generated using Project Generator).
To simplify the VR usage, we packaged addon and its examples in ready-to-use ZIP:
- ofxOpenVR addon: https://cloud.mail.ru/public/NBMX/D7thr2h7f
- openFrameworks with GML support – openFrameworks of_v20170714_vs_nightly.zip: https://cloud.mail.ru/public/4LrM/WwtFeF6DX
Now to use VR with openFrameworks, you are required:
- HTC Vive
- Visual Studio C++ 2015
- openFrameworks: https://cloud.mail.ru/public/4LrM/WwtFeF6DX
- OpenVR addon: https://cloud.mail.ru/public/NBMX/D7thr2h7f
Install off of this, and then compile and run three addon’s examples located in openFrameworks/addons/ofxOpenVR.
